About Us

Welcome to Champlin Park High School - Home of the Rebels!
On Sept. 8, 1992, Champlin Park High School (CPHS) opened its doors. The school originally served six communities: Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Dayton, Champlin, Coon Rapids and Fridley.
CPHS opened under four primary innovative pillars: block schedule, state-of-the-art technology, house concept and outcome-based education. Staff served on one of these four 'focal' aspects of the new school. It was these four major focuses that made CPHS unique and a leader in education innovation in the state and country.
Champlin Park opened with an initial enrollment of 1,650 students and grew continually from '92 to reach a maximum of 3,300 students in the early 2000s.
CPHS is proud to offer a wide range of post-secondary readiness programs for its students, which include: Advanced Placement (AP), Honors, International Baccalaureate (IB), College Possible and AVID. CPHS students have an opportunity to choose from a diverse range of activities and clubs in which to participate.
In 2012, 2013 and 2014, Champlin Park High School received recognition as a “Newsweek Top School,” a distinction recognizing the top high schools across the country.
