Enrollment Center now open to support families new to or interested in Anoka-Hennepin Schools

District staff stand ready to support new students and their families at the new district Enrollment Center, located at the Educational Services Center (ESC) in Anoka (2727 N. Ferry Street).

Why it matters: Getting families off to a strong start in school provides connection, answers questions and ensures students are prepared for school success through times of school transition.

One-stop-shop: The new Enrollment Center will serve as a one-stop-shop and will serve families with students of all ages planning to attend any district school, from early childhood to K-12.

Families may schedule an appointment or walk-in to:

  • Receive support in completing the online registration process
  • Receive translation/interpretation assistance
  • Complete early childhood screening
  • Conduct English Language learner (EL) assessments.
  • Apply for free/reduced priced meals and additional resources for eligible families.
  • Information on all Community Education programming

The basics: Walk-in visits are accepted from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Families may contact the Enrollment Center directly to set-up an appointment.

Extended “back to school” support: Open house events will also be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26 and Thursday, Sept. 3 to ensure families are connected and prepared before the start of the school year.

Families in attendance can try new things to prepare for school:

  • Ride a school bus together around the neighborhood.
  • Receive backpacks, school supplies and other resources. (Available for families in need.)

The development of the Enrollment Center is the result of Phase 3 budget reductions and realignment, approved by the Anoka-Hennepin School Board at its December 8, 2025 meeting, a decision that completes a multi-year, three-phased process to provide budget stability ahead of the 2026-27 school year. The School Board invested in a centralized enrollment center, cancelling a lease at the Coon Rapids Family Mall - a savings of $350,000 annually for taxpayers.
