Advanced Elective Class Pass Fail Grading Option
Advanced Elective Class Pass Fail Grading Option
Students who are taking advanced level classes (Honors, AP, IB) that are electives--such as Honors Spanish III, Honors PreCalculus, IB Math Applications, etc--may choose to use a Pass/Fail grading option. The purpose of this option is to encourage students to take challenging coursework, even when the class is not required, but to not worry as much about their final grade. When filling out the Pass/Fail form, the student will have the option to receive a "P," rather than a grade of "D" and/or of "C." A grade of "P" does not impact GPA. The student must still pass the class to receive a "P" and credit.
